About us

Hambleton Citizens Advice Bureau covers Hambleton District one of the largest districts in England at 40 miles long and 30 miles wide, with a population of 86,500.

The district is essentially rural with areas within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and also between the urban areas of Tees Valley, Darlington, York and Harrogate.

There are five market towns including Northallerton, the county town of North Yorkshire.

The majority of advisers are trained volunteers, helping the Citizens Advice service to resolve over seven million new problems every year.

Our service couldn’t survive without our 21,500 fantastic volunteers, but we need around 5,000 more. We’re looking for all sorts of people with different backgrounds and skills to volunteer with us for a uniquely rewarding experience.

About the Citizens Advice service

There are 338 Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales, all of which are members of Citizens Advice.

Together, we are the Citizens Advice service, and we help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Because every Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent charity we rely on the support of people like you.
